Olympic Bumper Plates are suitable for use in Olympic lifting, Powerlifting, CrossFit, and other heavy duty weightlifting programmes. These entry level bumper plates are designed to distribute impact forces throughout each plate when used. Each plate has the same diameter making them perfect for Olympic weightlifting exercises such as the clean and jerk and snatching.
These bumpers are designed to distribute impacts throughout the plate making them suitable for all types of weightlifting and being dropped from overhead. We recommend this is only done on platforms or suitably constructed flooring. We have rigorously tested our bumpers in a variety of high use commercial gym environments and we’re confident in the ability of these plates to withstand the repeated drops of CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting training.
With these bumper plates, we wanted to create a product that performs over time and heavy use but is a cost-effective choice for gyms buying in high volumes. The simple and clean black design is ideal for the busy gym environment and looks great even after long periods of wear. Generally, the 5kg plate is too narrow to withstand dropping so we would advice dropping a bar with just these plates on. We would suggest technique plates for situations when you might need to drop lighter weights.
